Fantastic. What was it graded on?

I love that the old west was civilized enough to have cup holders.

And is he Red Studio security?

i don't think they had filtered cigarettes back then. Come on guys! Forget it this camera sucks.

I'm assuming we'll see these in motion in vegas....

You have a saloon in your studio?

Great work Jim! It's unreal how pristine the image is at ISO 800. Any chance of some additional moving images?

The second one looks too clean for a period piece...

Everywhere you go there are critics... :-)

We shot this in a couple of hours, no time to go out and buy a pack of Camels.

Making this shot "dirty" is pretty easy. I'll try that as soon as we build some cameras. Deal?

Jim

As usual the only downside is JPEG compression being misleadingly choppy in the darks. I can see the DR really revolutionizing in the feel of historic films. We've always seen saloons in movies lit by electric lights behind the camera and unrealistically luminous chandeliers. Going back in time, say, to the medieval ages we only have candlelight, fireplaces and torchlight as well. With this and the promise of an HDR mode to come (hopefully capable of staving off fire from clipping) I can see historic films lit in this fashion getting a dark, realistic makeover (while still being able to see the actors ;)
