Not seen a thread on this issue... should be answered by Red staff I suppose...
Red One already gives a fine 120 fps at 2k... not very much, but ok, at a quality handicap. Epic promises to offer a more than respectable 250fps at 2k, very good for many uses (sports like soccer, tennis, polo, etc.). Ok, not enough for "spilling liquids" ads, but may well overtake most expensive and difficult Photosonics tasks and maybe even some Phantom or Weisscam job. My questions are:
Wil Epic´s 2k keep Red One´s sensor size, that is, slightly bigger than regular 16, smaller than Super 16? Thinking here about keeping, or investing in, relatively cheap S16 and even some R16 lenses.
Will Epic´s 2k quality improve enough so as to admit a more extensive use for high def TV, even high speed for, let´s say, "small" ads?
Yes, of course, there are subjective points on all of this, I know...
Thanks,
Guido
