Hello eveyone - Not sure if this is the right place for this.

I am trying to use an older Viewsonic Monitor as part of a video village setup for a short shoot this weekend. The Monitor is a DVI monitor, which I am running a brand new HMDI to DVI cable, to the back of the epic. When I turn on the monitor it tells me no signal. When I go HDMI to HDMI to my smallHD DP4 it works perfectly, when I even go HDMI to HMDI to 46" TV it works.

Am I missing something or can I not use a DVI based monitor?

HELP

Thanks everyone.

Tom

Check that the monitor can receive a true progressive signal. Also check Epic is set to send a suitable resolution image that the Monitor supports.

Okay so the plot thickens - Haven't been able to find out if the monitor can receive true progressive signal, its a Viewsonic VX2459WM. But when I do this setup, Epic to HDMI to DP4 to HDM/DVI to Viewsonic it works. By using the DP4 as a pass through it seems to pass the signal to the Viewsonic (now I don't care how about the image quality I really just need it for composition) but it seems like a pain in the but to add the DP4 in the middle.

Thanks again

Tom
