  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic has "Error: 0x0000001d"

Suddenly got this error message yesterday.

Does anyone know what it means?

Ive had this error code.

Send a log file to red and open a support ticket.

It really helps them troubleshoot the firmware.

Got this problem with my scarlet. Sigh. Sent support ticket and log file.
 
i had the same error with an E at the end and it meant hardware failure...
 
Was told to upgrade firmware, so I did. Now it just happens 10x as much. Sent a follow up response late last night, no response yet.

This is sort of a bummer.

these errors are often triggered by hardware-problems... even if it's a bummer; better this is happening with some "warning signs" between a shoot then an unexpected total blackout on set. Direct contact with the support team is the best thing you can do in this case so you did everything you can and you did it right I guess (if it really is a hardware glitch it's better to get it sorted out on hardware level and not on firmware level)...

keep us updated if possible (RED-mails are non-disclosure but it#s always good to know if stuff gets fixed or not)!
 
I just want to finish this story with I dropped my camera off at RED and received less than a week later. It seems to be working fine, and they were very nice and gracious through the entire process!

I had this problem and it turned out to be the power board. I believe the red batteries damaged the epic board somehow. I was using Anton Bauer with no issues and when I bought the red XL batteries I started having problems. I sent it into Red and they had to change the board. I know someone else who has the same issue and it appears to be battery related as well.
 
They didn't tell me the cause of the problem. They just sent me the camera back, so it's tough to say.
 
I have had a nightmare of a day thanks to this error.

Last day of a 5 day shoot for a short film, epic was rigged to movi with terradeck started to recieve this error, re formatted card, re installed firmwear and then had "serious error" on boot up.
Production had to get a replacement body in and now my camera is showing serious error.

I have heard of issues with the terradecks sending DC down the SDI and frying monitors, is there a chance this has happened to my camera and fried a board?
Its a bank holiday here so no one at RED, have sent the email, now im a sitting duck. shoots on this weekend and no working camera.
 
I just got my camera back from Red last week.

We start shooting for a feature at 8:30am tomorrow, so I went on set to check the lighting looked OK, and the camera has started giving me the infamous "Error: 0x0000001d" message again.

It says to "save log and send to RED support", but as the only thing the camera will do after this error is shutdown, it is not possible to save a log!!!

I tried phoning both Red Pinewood and Red USA, but both were closed as it's Sunday!

Needs to go to RED...most likely main board related. Did anything physical happen to the camera that could have jarred something loose?
