EPIC FAN NOISE - HEARTBREAKING DURING INTERVIEW

Hello Jake,
There won't be any MarkII version ;-).
The FanPlate on the web site is the 1rst prototype. We made 2 other prototypes and now we are in production and planning a serie of 50 FanPlates. All aluminium bodies are ready to ship but still waiting for some parts (we will have them within 3-4 weeks).
We have 4 plates ready to ship for some reviews but didn't make any videos. I use one on every shoot. Overheating is something from the past for me and I just shot in January a documentary in Mozambique without heat issue (nor fan noise). I think every one has to learn and adapt the FanPlate dimmer to his shooting style. There are some recommended settings but the heat management of the camera is an operator based choice. Some Don't want to bother to change fan speed settings (one rotating dimmer) and have the same setting for rolling and STBY. Other won't let the camera go up to 38C (sensor) and push the FanPlate to higher levels.
There could be a video from a well known red accessories web review in a few weeks.

I will post the link once it's available.

Good that this thread comes to a happy end with the FanPlate and the RED fan. New threads will pop up with real life tests and comparison between the solutions out there.

The best thing for the end user is that there exists options to choose from.

Happy shoot.
