  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic Dragon shutter stops working - 10K repair bill

Agreed :)

A Red owner 'loyalty' upgrade would be great - I know we've all put a lot of cash into the eco system and the body represents only a part of that... having the partial security of knowing an upgrade could be done (if something catastrophic happens, as in Robino's case), would be a good card to have. Maybe restrict to the original purchaser only (keeping it as more of a loyalty thing).

Echoing Brendan's view - call your BS and we'll keep our fingers crossed :)

Thanks very much guys for the suggestions and encouragements, I got an email from support yesterday requesting to hold the camera for an additional day or so for further evaluation. Crossing my fingers and hoping the engineers can figure out what's wrong and how to repair the board.

I'll keep all fingers and toes crossed too!

Let's hope for good news :)

Hi Robino - just dropping back to see if there's been any update (and good news)?

Amazing news - I have my camera back.

The engineers figured out the issue and I got the camera back last week - Thanks to the RED Support team and engineers - they are GREAT!

That is amazing news! I'm glad it worked out for you!

What (in the end) was the problem? - and (I presume) the fix wasn't a deal breaker (as you have your camera back now :)

Awesome! I'm glad things worked out for you, it kicks ass that RED can stand behind its products!

I love hearing good news like that. :-)

So well done RED, but I still think that RED needs to stand by its products more. I'm no businessman but it does seem unfair to expect the owner to pay a $10K repair bill on a camera that is not very old. Please consider.

It would seem that RED has considered and come up with the goods. That US$10,000 was a scary prospect though.

What an EPIC outcome! Great thread and totally superb that you got the camera back! Thanks RED! I think that`s something that every time should happen if loyal customers have problems with equipment.

Woah, that went from 10k in the hole, to now having a working camera.. Way to go. This post made me hit up Red to see if my Epic Weapon needs amor. 10k fix it ticket is nothing to sneeze at...
