Looks like I'll be shooting a few spots with an epic dragon and MX. Any tips or setting to keep them matching as close as possible would be great. I've shot with both but never side by side and having to match.

Just expose them well and then when you get them into RCX make sure you apply the same color science as you will not be able to do this in camera. I do this all the time with my Dragon and my Scarlett MX as a B camera and it is completely seamless. They match up really well. Just give them the same WB Kelvin and then you can switch the "processing color science" to whichever one you want and proceed.

Cheers,
David

Shoot them side by side all the time. Makes me resent spending the money on the dragon ;-)

I've mixed them a lot and agree you that if you set up the cameras the same, Kelvin etc., when you get to RCX you'll be able to match them. Color chart and grey cards are always nice if you have them. Oh, also remember your lens choices. Keep contrasty with contrasty and so on.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I'm thinking of shooting both at 5k as well. I guess this would crop the Dragon a little more so does it make sense to just shoot full 6k on the Dragon and 5k on the MX?

It shouldn't make a difference with most NLEs. Premiere, FCPX and Resolve can put 5K and 6K on the same timeline. The main issue is whether your lenses cover 6K on the Dragon.
