Can someone confirm if the red Epic deposits have started or not. There are some posts that say it is over, but I haven't heard a peep!

Sorry that this isn't a complaint, but my heart is actual racing now.

I didn't think it had even started because no one is posting about it, an now I see posts that say it is over..

I have all my info up to date, but I haven seen or heard anything..

Yeah - I emailed Marco right off the bat, but they are taking a well deserved break.. then the panic started in.. I would have a beer to calm down, but last night was excess.. so I posted here..

Sorry to freak out.. I just changed some contact info around a couple months ago and it occurred to me that my message may have been lost.

There have been some weird posts about the deposit date passing, but they were just confusing the date to own an R1 to upgrade.

Two very different things.

You're right, no deposits taken, no new news.

As Epic time is getting closer the forum get "hot" with questions regarding payments.
The October 30th announcement took care of that but that was two months ago and it was more regarding the 4 stages road map and many other details. It didn't say anything about deposit.
There maybe NO DEPOSIT but a full payment once Red owners turn for any of the stages will come up, but maybe it will be good if Red will come out with an announcement regarding payments for the Epic.
If not we can always read this (read also between the lines)

Okay please allow me to jump in, and see if I can make a little sense of this..

In order to reward all early R1 believers Jim has made incredible offerings of upgrade paths, so any R1 owner that has purchased in first hand and or has purchase a second hand R1 but pay for the transfer fee to RED on or before October 29th, will qualify for stages ONE to THREE.

Any one that will buy a First hand (New at RED Store) R1 will be eligible for the Stage FOUR of the Epic BRAIN ONLY upgrade path, NO FREE RED GOODIES and NO preference path on waiting list.

So I would very carefully look in to this before buying a used RED ONE, as it could in deed be valid for all stages of upgrades to the Epic, while at the same time it might very well not be, I haven't check in to this personally but just out of recollection of various posts, so confirm it for your self.

Each current R1 Register User, will receive an e-mail with given instruction to which Stage to upgrade to, and if this is not executed with in 30 days, then you will automatically fourth fit your R1 Serial number as executed and no further eligible for any other offerings, other then the upgrades to the R1 it self upon payment of what ever cost.!!

Eythan, here I quoted my self :~) and again there never was an announcement from RED and or any deposits ever accepted for the Epic and or Scarlet cameras, this was also very clearly stated by the RED team in more then one occasion.

Yup - Got it Ketch - I kinda did a double post...my faux pas. I had that beer yesterday and calmed down :-)

I think the crux of this is:

1) Mis-information, So thanks to the senior folks around here who know what the score is. With some of this stuff, if you don't follow the current events of reduser every day, the whole "Everything is Subject to Change" thing can be daunting. I felt that I understood what Jim announced in Oct and was at peace, but when I saw some hubub floating around about deposits and what not, I feared that the "E.S.C." clause may have kicked in.

Just to defend my irrational paranoia, I posted this question in a simple answer format because sometimes I am really bad at the reading between lines thing (ask my wife) and I it did dawn on me that if folks were getting the notification for the upgrade, but a condition of that upgrade could be a gag order so folks don't get antsy.

So Ketch, It was that later part of your description that I was worried about. I am a current Red One owner. I was afraid that they DID send my notification via email, but for some reason I did not get it and my 30 days were up, thusly forfeiting my upgrade. insert terror!

2) Fear of missing the boat : I think a lot of folks here are so excited (I know I am) about the Epic. I have the cashola ready to go and I don't want to jump in line or complain, but I sure don't want to loose out on anything because I wasn't paying attention.

With all that out of the way, Thanks to this community, I received a simply stated reply in less than 5 minutes. So this post is academic.

This is also the largest post that I have written in reduser, So I am in danger of loosing my lurker status.
