A wide ranging, non-biased test with popular digital cinema production cameras (Epic, Alexa, Black Magic, F55, F65, Canon 5D, C300, C500 & Novo). Categories such as dynamic range, color rendition and compositing help provide visual comparisons rather than technical specifications.

I thought the Epic at -5 was the best...which is impressive considering it's the oldest sensor there.

Interesting to see how Dragon would have stacked.

Interesting test. I would have expected the Alexa to have looked a bit better on the darker end and Epic to have looked a bit better on the brighter end. I am curious what type of lighting was used, what the cameras were rated at and how they determined their neutral color balance .The Epic footage appeared a bit magenta on my screen compared to many of the others . It also seemed to my eye that the assigned proper exposure for the Epic was perhaps a bit hot compared to the others. Anyone else notice this or is it just the laptop screen I was watching this on?

I appreciate the effort but it's a bit of a waste when every camera has basically been conformed with a crappy standard transform that crushes the top and low end.

And did anyone else think this test came rocketing straight out of 1988?

I don't agree.

I've seen this test projected at the Oslo Digital Cinema Conference. It is done by David Stump ASC and one of the best, smartest tests I have ever seen.
