Hi all,There's something that's been driving been nuts for a while that I'm wondering if someone may have the answer to. I like to shoot with a 180degree shutter but nearly every time I boot the camera up my shutter changes to something different from what I was previously using. I shoot natural history and so I need to be ready to shoot as soon as I boot up. For example if I set the shutter to 180degrees at 120fps when I reboot then it can change it to 216 degrees. It does the same thing whether I choose time or angle. I have it set to 'relative'. Is there anyway of maintaining a 180degree shutter all the time even after reboot?

Many thanks,

Pete

That should not be happening Pete.
Can you send in a log file to rmaeurope - at - red.com; we can check things out.

Thanks all. I've just sent in a log. Fingers crossed we get this fixed soon.

Best,

Pete

Hello!

...my question is: Does your shutter change when you change frame rates?

Thank you!
Christian

In Relative mode it's supposed to change in terms of fractions of a second, but stay the same in terms of Degrees. However, it shouldn't change shutter angle by itself.

A bug for sure.

I've had this issue with another Epic [build 4.0.12] on a shoot a few weeks ago. After power cycle the shutter would be at another shutter angle.

Our settings were generally variable speed, relative, and it happened if we where at 24, 48, 72, 100 fps - it didn't matter - the shutter would not be set at the original 180 before the cycle (power was mostly AC). It happened after every power cycle. There where also times when the shutter would change without the cycle, but I wasn't there at those times. The B cam (my camera) that is on build 4.0.10 does not have that issue.
