... is 5 pounds. That is official.

That is truly is ...Awesome, like a suitcase Nuke, or a flying DeLorean.

Add side SSD and handle plus lens and you are about at 10 pounds... 5K at 120fps. Pretty good. :-)

I think I can handle that,
I see O connor lost a lot of 2575 customers, though - for those customers who don't need to ballance an HR on those = 2.26796185 kilograms

That 5lb weight includes the Ti PL lens mount as well. a Brain with a Canon Mount weighs slightly less.

A 10 pound package is pretty sweet, light enough sling around, beefy enough to be steady.

so i'll quit sport studio again, back to burgers, 5 pounds is in the "i can handle that though i'm lazy" league.

there are now some awesome possibilities with epic

Epic brain with additionally custom build Leica M mount including lightweight Leica-M 21mm f/1.4 Summilux-M Aspherical manual focus still lens just about 1.3 lb (580g)

and extra battery on your belt that probably would be the lightest 5K/4K/120fps digital cinema rig ever made (altogether EPIC brain, LCD or Bomb EVF, LM-mount, SSD module, LM lens is about 7lb/pounds or 3.2kg).

The things are changing very fast in 2011.

Kudos on the weight to performance ratio of the Epic design and the form factor. Smaller and lighter means more versatility and flexibility in operation, which opens a larger creative envelope.

In addition, big props for offering base frame rates up to 48 fps (nominal). While there may be a particular "magic" to the cadence of 24 fps and the "baud" rate of human visual system/brain processing (and/or complex conditioning factors) that make 24 fps the optimum choice for some material, I am excited about the option of working in 48 fps when I choose to.

Thanx RedTeam - #19

Would be nice wth base framerates up to 50 (yeah, I know the 60 request will be comming, but I live in PAL land, and HD is displayed at 720p50...)

5 lbs...with or without water/phase cooling?!
