  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic back focus way out.

Not really a complaint, just a heads up to the folks at Red. My epic was delivered last week with the back focus way out. No big deal, easy enough to fix, but letting you guys know for your QC procedures that you shipped a camera that wasn't set up right.

Absolutely loving the Epic.

Nick, we check back focus at three different points before shipping so this does surprise me. I will let QC know.

That's why I brought it up. It seemed like a mistake. When I got my epic I threw up a bunch of primes and it looked great, I was excited. A few days later I did a real world job, and as soon as we put up a zoom it was obvious that something was amiss. The same zoom had looked fine on both my red ones, and I think 4 f3s. We adjusted the BF on the epic and everything was great. Once we got it dialed in all our lenses came up right. I'm just letting you guys know because I know you kill gremlins when they come up, if it helps you pm me and I'll send you a my serial number. Or let me know if there is any other info I can give you. Just trying to help with info.
