Epic Availability?

I think when they changed Scarlet S35 to Epic-S the Epic-X will now have to refer to all stages of the Epic-X Brains. This includes Stage 4's (new customers) even though they don't get the free modules.

I don't think there will be one just called "Epic." That would be even more confusing...

I think Curran has it correct.

I'm sure this was all resolved when Epic-M and Epic-S were being named.

I tend to agree with Curran and Jim here. Post the name change decision new (stage 4) customers will most likely, when the time comes, be ordering either an Epic X or Epic S (or possibly an Epic M if RED decides to make a few more: "We'll continue to make EPIC-Ms until EPIC-X production begins... maybe even after. The love for the machined body with rental companies and others really surprised us. Jim.").

I think Jimhare's and the Fireman's references to Epic as opposed to Epic X have been overtaken by events. Logically, if the names were to become 'Epic' and 'Epic S' it would be easy to assume that 'Epic S' was the higher spec model.

(Just my opinion of course and 'everything is subject to etc, etc....')

Things have changed over time. Originally Epic-X referred to the hand selected sensors for Red ONE owners, sensors that would perform better than the baseline Epic S35. Now it seems that Epic-X = Epic S35 and the customer loyalty bonus comes only in the way of the trade in freebies. I think it is ultimately for the best.

Curran, I think you may be reading incorrectly. Although, I am a little bit confused too :001_smile:

Brent recently clarified Jim's post stating:

"Jim said EPIC-X (ie, Stage 2 and 3 for RED ONE owners only), not EPIC or SCARLET. Don't try to assume this has direct bearing on those two products in regards to NAB. Take his post at face value."

So, I think, Jim Hare may be correct that Expic-X is stage 2 and 3 and for RED ONE owners only and, once these are shipped, we may see Epic-P (for Proletariat) or something like that.
