Do you have a small sample of the digital hash you can share with me - so that I can compare this with the 'sounds' of digital hash my camera was recording (on a previous build).

no, mine was more of a repeat/slice/loop/original mixture, and was only playback in camera. The actual R3D audio was fine.

Hi,

just wanted to know if anyone else has this problem:
Since I installed the new firmware on both of my Scarlets, they go crazy.
Clips are not recorded to the media, the main Power Button doesnt respond, I dont get picture on the LCD, camera completely crashes when I switch to playback mode. I always have to pull the cable to "power down" the cam. Funny thing is, it happens on both scarlets. Any experience with this?

I'm not sure about that.
I did a black shade with 4.0.12 on set last week and it took at least 15 minutes.

I think you need to try it again....I've done several blackshades recently with the new build and they all are similar in time to previous builds. Are you sure you did not have a bad blackshade--in that it failed in under 5 mins?

Full black shading takes 12-15 minutes now.

to temporarily apply a black shading from an SSD or memory takes under five minutes.

its great to see these times reduced and the ability to store various frame rates and temperatures.

I only wish the camera could store more than one user black shading.

Weird, I will try it again, but there were no fail messages, it went through all the regular motions, just faster.

EDIT: That said I didn't time it, it just felt super fast. I'm trying it again with a timer.

1. 3 times times the camera and 'off suddenly.
2. Only 2 times play the clip, the camera and 'locked, I removed the cable from the LCD and put back and everything is' back to work.
3. after a few (3/4) shots in HDRx , the next 5 clip recorded normal without Hdrx is not 'can be read with the Redrocket, with only the CPU and play on camera, Strange but be so.

Being a good relaise but with some small bugs.

This does not sound normal. please open a support ticket and send in a log file.

I posted my question in the "Epic" forum, but since nobody replies and I really would like to user this function, I might put it here since it seem to be related with the firmware upgrades:
An early ver . of Firmware 4.0 showed it very well, and I loved it.
But then, upgrading to higher ver. I can not make it work any more.

I set the pre-recording to a target time. I am at 1:00:00:00 and set the prerecording to 10 sec.
In my understanding and experience before, the timecode numbers turn yellow and after 1:00:00:10 it will start at 1:00:00:00 again and will loop and if I press the record button at 1:00:00:05 the numbers will turn red and continue normal until I stop recording. But meaning to say, the 1st 5 sec (1:00:00:00-05 will be also recorded.

But... now, when I press the pre-record button, it will turn yellow starting at 1:00:00:00 and keep counting upward. With no difference.

What am I missing?

Several times on a shoot last week, when project was 25 fps, but we were shooting faster (e.g. 100fps), when we tried to playback the camera hung.
Needed a hard power down to recover.
