  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic and Scarlet BUILD 4 V4.0.12 FIRMWARE

Can someone from RED please respond to this request for Monitor flip and mirror? It has been since January since I have heard anything official from RED and even then there is no clear answer if this is actually going to be resolved. Again it is absolutely pointless to use the feature in it's current form unless you are shooting a static shot and even then all video is reversed. I am clearly not the only one this would benefit.

I have the soft keys assigned to various shooting presets and when the camera comes back after power save (with assigned button) the touch ability on the touch screen no longer works. It's solvable with a restart or Hz change in the display menu. as far as I can tell this only happens with the +1 module attached.

Other then that great release, love the adaptive fan mode / temp control.

it also happens when using the regular monitor adaptor, at least with 4.0.10. Will try it with 4.0.12 later this week.
 
Just reporting back for those holding off on upgrading.

Four heavy load, hot weather, high humidity shooting days in East Asia with no problems to report at all on this build.

Hi Tony,

That ability has been in the firmware for about a year now. I even offered to upload my presets to do this.

+1 Flipping the monitor would be amazing.
 
I configured my presets so they can instantly switch between 24, 96, 160 3k and 300 2k ws. Super convinient.

Btw one wish list
The scrolling menues are very inefficient for fps aperture etc. Instead of having them in a scrolling window just fill the whole screen with all the numbers. This would use the screen much better than having the scrolling numbers being far outside of the screen.

Send in your logs to RED.

I hope everyone who has a bug reports it so we can fix these issues in future builds.
 
I wrote a big email regarding audio playback recently, a few weeks prior to this build being released actually. My main issue is HD-SDI audio going out to my Panasonic 1760 monitor, it sounds like shit. There is only audio over SDI in 1080 and it's not present in 720p, this happens across all refresh rates. I'll write a more detailed email to them when I get a chance.

Boring really.
