  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic Anamorphic

yet so close...just follow the Mississippi river, you'll find me.

At the speed it's flowing now it wouldn't take long.

Greg, I'm on the Missouri in Montana, I'll jump in a raft and see you...in 2 days! Although, I don't have any anamorphics, so the only thing that would accomplish is... getting wet.

So is there a firmware update that has a 5K Anamorphic function? Last time I worked with an Epic, anamorphic wasn't an option, and of course no de-squeeze for the viewfinder or monitor output. I'm preparing a feature that intends to shoot Epic/anamorphic, and finding a decent de-squeeze option has been problematic.

Anamorphic support is in Build 1.6. 1.4.9 will hit as the new release build and 1.6 as the new Alpha build.

friggin rock solid alpha builds shooting over $1B in movies...and oh by the way... ana... love it!

welcome back Jim

Both Paul Cameron and Mitch Amundsen are shooting EPIC with Panavision anamorphics on their current projects......

Soooo glad people are paying attention to that little bit of info dropped in the Total Recall thread -anny's are discussed quickly then it goes away and we hear nothing more. Can't wait for the new build -am told it's any day now...

Here's to hoping I can get my hands on an Epic for my next feature in August.
Dying to get our Lomo's on there to see how they look, as well as some Hawks.

Might be in New York next month. I'll bring 'em down, hopefully have a Beta build by then.
