  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Okay, in the next couple of days, we are getting what will be for many, I suspect thousands of RED EPIC USERS, "THE MOST LOOKED AFTER EPIC ACCESSORY"!!

Keep an eye open, its coming here on Reduser first of course, unless I get basted before he he... ;)

I'm not saying I know anything about what this is (even though Ketch is practically my next door neighbor I have not even seen his EPIC), but I think I can read between the lines a little bit.

Ketch is offering a roundtrip Airline ticket to whoever can guess...

WHAT THE HELL CAN IT BE?
WHO MAKES IT?
WHERE IS IT COMING FROM?
WHY WILL THOUSANDS of users want this sought after EPIC accessory?


I think Ketch was being sneaking burying this in another thread, but knowing Ketch, this has to be big.

I can't figure it out.

I said it is form RED, not form third parties, not that I don't use third parties, but I firmly believe that an item that will be in thousands of EPIC is most likely to come form RED, and in this case it does indeed come form RED... ;)

What I can say is:

It has Electronic parts in it... So it will need power... Or give it... ;)

NO one said Nikon mount.

Ketch. I have a box full of Nikon glass very close by.

If I'm right you can fly me to Canada to see my patents. :)

I would guess a wireless HD-SDI transmitter in the form of a module. I would also say something to do with solar power, but you couldn't depend on sun power enough.

I like this guess. But since it is already taken I'm going with a new type of handle -- like a zoom rocker style handle with servo. And it will work with Canon, Nikon and RED electronic lenses!
 
My guess is that it's a 3D beam splitter. Am I the lucky winner?

Having asid that, i wish it was a device to turn the Epic on...we seem to have just about every control and module imaginable except there is no way to turn the camera on remotely :rolleyes5:
