Hi all,
I have this configuration:
Epic build 4 + http://fortiscinema.com/fortis-xlr-adaptor.php

1- I tested RODE NTG 2,
very low volume (max level on Epic) (balanced and unbalanced).
With +48 big big noise and low sound

2- RODE NTG 4 +48 phantom on Epic, very low volume and big big noise

3- Sennheiser ME66 +48 phantom on Epic, very low volume and big big noise (no K6 power module)

4- Sennheiser radio Lav g2, perfect!

5- Zoom H1, ((mini jack direct on Epic)), perfect!

Conclusions:
-The phantom +48 on Epic unusable in any configuration (too Noise)
-Radio mic Lav. OK
-directional microphones do not work
-External recorder ok

I have to make shooting in the high mountains (3.500-4.000 meters)
No sound man possible! :-((
The helicopter I pose on a ridge; Red in hand-backpack with lenses and battery, and mountain guide of course
Audio is very important!!!
I was hoping that the RODE NTG 2 worked or directional microphones!

A few suggestions?
Thanks

Here's how I do the shoot.
Crest of the Breithorn (4.000 meters)
Me + mountain guide

I believe Phantom Power is enabled but you need the proper cable. Mono Unbalanced if I remember correctly. That could explain your issues.

But the inputs are different. R1MX is mini xlr, Epic/Scarlet is 3.5mm mini jack. So you must be using a different cable to connect to the inputs of the brain. Have you tried playing with the settings to go from balanced to unbalanced or vice versa in camera?
