  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC 691 takes flight on CineStar 8 multi-rotor

This Nikon seems to be the right size lens for Epic. Looking good together!!!

very cool...

nice property, too :)

if you don't mind, a rough $ ballpark of the cost to build that so far?

Christian, The footage going over the hedge is from the EPIC...just raw footage from the cam. The nikon mount is excellent, it is from Jacek at Optitek (thanks Johnny Friday for the tip!)

I did not have much interesting footage from the EPIC but will post some more soon, just need to escape my shop and go shoot with it a bit!

Tabb

awesome!
keep us updated!
thanks.

Hi Tabb,

How to you connect the battery to power up the Epic ?

cheers

We have some upcoming projects where production has inquired about the ability to fly our EPIC through some tight spaces. Here is the first test flight of our solution

I think we can shave 2 more pounds off the rig

Hi Tabb,

We bought the Cinestar 8 from quadrocopter.us, fixed the Epic and flew it, but how do we connect the camera battery?

Maybe you can advice. Which batt to use? Redvolt or the V mount one? We're not using the side handle, so the redvolt is impossible.
In this case, how did you power up your Epic whist flying?

Hope you can share it with us soon. Thanks!

Bert Tan

Thanks Guys,

It is like the people at RED tailor made the perfect aerial camera for us! I don't quite know how they packed all that magic into such a small box.

I am excited to get the upgraded heatsink which saves ~1lb as I recall.

You can find this unit at Quadrocopter.us if you are interested. We will be making a couple optional parts for flying the big cameras like the EPIC available.

Best,

Tabb
