  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC @ 300fps "fire test"

My initial shot was gonna be, the glass bottle exploding into a big fire ball. This was shot outside during the day in a closed off makeshift tent with the camera behind thick plexiglass. Its surprisingly hard to explode a bottle full of starting fluid lol. Im guessing the mixture wasn't the right oxogen/starting fluid ratio. On playback I watched the long wick that I had in the neck of the bottle, fall inside (on fire!) and nothing happened. I had a cork crazy glued in the neck of the bottle ( with enough space for the wick to pass through on fire, drilled a hole on the side of the cork) Any thoughts on the best way to do it?? I think I might just put some gas in the bottle with a mortar hanging on the inside and see what happens... Haha

See this is the type of shhhh i'm talking about....Everyone that has an Epic has likes show how great it is. Look at this... oh it can do this with slow motion. Big Deal!!
One day the Scarlet will have slow motion and I will show off too but for right now the footage you guys shoot is awesome. If I had the Epic I would be doing the same damn thing...cheers and hats off to you Epic owners. =)

That looks great, you've made your own high quality plate for vFX work!

Haha thank you guys! I'll post agian when I have the bigger explosion that I was looking for. This shot was at the end of the day when I wasn't happy with the explosion result so insead of puting the fire out with the fire extinguisher I fueled the fire with a can of starting fluid out of frustration lol

Haha! Well i was thinking about filling the glass bottle with propane and crazy glue the cork in and see what happens haha.
