Hey guys,

last week we've been on a shoot and had to find out that our EOS mount for our Scarlet-W is not working anymore.

The release-button on the side fell off out of the sudden, and we noticed it when it was already too late. Luckily we found the button itself, but the screw is lost. So right now we can't unlock our Canon-glass without a small pin to trigger the button and the worst part of it is that the mount itself doesn't seem to work anymore (can't find aputure on any lens anymore).

This week we rented a PL mount + PL glass but since RED Berlin closed their doors I'm a bit afraid that this problem won't solve itself. Is there anyone from the RED team that can help out real quick?

Hi Gerrit

Sorry to hear about your problem.

I doubt the release button has anything to do with the mount not functioning electronically, unless the lost screw somehow fell into the mount and shorted the pins - but that doesn't seem likely in normal use as the screw would fall down to the ground rather than sideways into the mount.

Assume you didn't uninstall or reinstall the mount while the camera was powered up? Or touch any of the tracks or components of the mount? This can cause electronic damage through power surges and/or static.

Other than that, check all the contacts are clean, and the mount is sitting flush against the camera body when installed.

Zooming into your picture, it looks like the screw is peeking out under the release tab.
Maybe it worked its way inside and is interfereing with the electronics.

You could also try reinstalling, and then doing a "Discover Hardware" or something to that effect - I forget the exact wording of the menu option.
