Encoding: compressor to Itunes quality on vimeo?

Hello group

So here is my dillema I compress my footage on compressor using a vimeo preset. This method was recommended to me by a few people however my footage comes out looking really dark and compressed. However I tried the preset to encode to apple tv and it looks as good or even better then when I burn to a blu ray disc. My question is this," how can i get this type of quality on vimeo? The contrast is as it should be and the colors look as i intended them in the grade.

Vimeo will accept the AppleTV preset encode, so just upload that one.

Now getting renders that look as good as Apple Trailers on the other hand, is a bit of a mystery to me... They always looks incredibly sharp/crisp and are only about a hundred megs per minute.

Ignore vimeo's guidelines. If you've got the bandwidth, upload 35mps H.264, or Pros Res 422 to Vimeo. It can handle it.

And if you have a Vimeo Pro account, they'll let you post bigger files with (potentially) more bandwidth.

Will videos not be reencoded when upload AppleTV preset? Or did I get it wrong? Thanks.
