Is anyone else having issues with turning on audio freezing their Epic-x? I have release build .44 (it happened under .42 also) and whenever I enable audio, the camera just freezes and the fan goes full tilt. If I am on AC power, it's just fine. I have the Element Technica/IDX battery plate with both RED Bricks and third party batteries. I have tried blocking all the non power pins on the battery/plate (making sure something else wasn't going on) to no avail. Have tried starting up with the monitor disconnected. Have tried enabling it with a signal coming into the audio port. No joy.

It would be great if someone else with the same ET/IDX plate could test this to see if they have the same issue or not.

I am having the same issue. We have tried it on AC power as well as the red bricks. The camera is reading that I have mics plugged into the two 1/8" ports in the font, however I clearly don't. I have tried plugging mics in and every time I turn the ports on the camera freezes. So I unplug the mics and go into the audio menu and try to turn on the mics...the camera freezes. We have two red epics one it working completely fine but the other one is having audio issues. I have the most current build installed on both cameras, and like Matthew the issue happened under .42. I contacted RED and sent them a Log file from the camera, but so far they haven't said anything.

Is there anyone that is having the same issue, or has figured out how to fix this issue?

Can you please file a support ticket and send them a log file?

Thanks.

I just tried AC power again and the problem still persists. For those of you that have had this problem, what did you do to fix it?

I had the boot issue too when using the backpack quickplate. Again, no problems with either AC or battery belt clip. I received the VF APU battery plates yesterday (IDX) and they work just fine on the EPIC-X under 1.7.9. Only thing is they report voltage instead of % of power remaining.
