Good on you Emery!

Thanks guys! It's been a long journey and a long wait for Epic. I'll admit my enthusiasm had died a touch but opening this box brought it all rushing back. With so many out in wild now, there has already been a lot of great dialogue. Much of what I wanted to say has been said but I'll say this... for those of you who have not had the opportunity to cup one of these cameras in your hands, you just won't understand why everyone is so excited about this camera. I live right near the Brooklyn Bridge waterfront where this picture was taken and I was able to walk out of my apt and get some incredible shots with nothing more than you see in my hands. I walked around for hours by myself with the Epic brain, Touch screen LCD, outrigger handle, battery plate, 1 red brick, and backpack to hold the battery (dont have red volts yet). The weigh was completely manageable and fairly comfortable. I was shooting 5K FF from 24-96 fps to 128GB SSD Mags at 12:1 and it was such an amazing experience. The system was rock solid other than 2 power spikes which shut the camera off. Have to get with RED to figure out why that was happening but it was hardly an annoyance because boot up time is LIGHTING fast. There were several instances where I wanted to grab some quick action I was seeing and I was able to catch it every time thanks to the instant boot. I was also surprised how fast and responsive the LCD screen was. I don't know what I was expecting but it exceeded my expectations.

Because there are so many fantastic and experienced shooters that are already sharing great insights with the camera, Im going to focus this thread more in my expertise which is post. We'll be running a barrage of tests in Scratch over the next few weeks and we'll share our experiences here. Looking forward to this ride.
