Oh, it is you May - thank you for the great support! Hot cheers from the cold (-21 Celsius) Russia:)

I've been looking at the Element sale and trying to work out, what is in there that is the most special item. The drive iso mounts are really cool but if you aren't using the aging red drives they are not so exciting. The long cheese plate that finally resolves the problem with a round camera and even allows you to mount the camera in low mode on a steadicam seems kinda awesome, but there are other cheese plates out there, just not as good. No I came to the conclusion that the most special item is the cheese stick! You can mount items on it like a cheese plate but it also acts as a handle, and a long handle at that, which will allow you to get the centre of balance just right as you hold it. The thing that makes it most special of all tho, is that in combing these facilities, it creates a lot of versatility for those looking for a low weight option, which is something you might be looking for in the camera if you are going to really be using that handle for shooting. It also just has a big cool factor too. ;)

Anyway, just thought I'd share my thoughts on the sale. Must rush off and write some paying reviews or I won't be able to afford any bits myself!

Also top tip for those in the UK trying to buy stuff:

Try and keep your total order below £130 in order to avoid paying even more excise charges as it comes into the UK on top of the VAT you will have to pay anyway.

Right, enough of this helping other people business and more helping me! ;)

Yes, I think I'm going to get hit, but even still, its an amazing deal. Just hope it won't sting too much...

It's nice stuff!

There is one advantage to doing it all in one block tho, if you are definitely ordering a load of stuff, and that is that the post office will charge you about £8 I think for handiling the VAT. If it is all in one package then there should be only one charge, but of course you have to pay the extra excise duty if it comes to more than £130.

So if you wanted lots from there it may have been unavoidable to pay the extra charges.

Even with the 17% duty, it should still be a steal.
I did get a little bundle, Probably saved about $1000! So glad I hadn't bought any of that stuff yet!

All of the items were cheaper than is being asked for used ET gear on the forum!

Yikes! Did the duty really come to 17%?
So that's 37% total? !!!

I know what you mean about it being cheaper than the second hand prices for brand new parts tho! :)

Let us know when your package arrives!

yes, I will.

I think 17% is one of the worst case scenarios. It may be less. I don't know how they will classify it.

The shipping killed me off for my order (two top mounts), I couldn't justify it. The RED One's shipping was less!

Might be less than you think when you consider that it's just dollars, but yeah I do know what you mean. When it's just something tiny like that you just want to say, "can't you just stick it in an envelope and sling it in the post?!" ;) heh heh!

Placed an order with Elements yesterday, it's shipping today! Everyone at Elements was very helpful, thanks again May!!

I purchased:

UltraLite 15 RED 15mm Lightweight Bracket
Elements Cheese Stick
Elements Topside Combo
Elements Single Drive Mount Kit - 15mm
Elements Red One Top Rod Mount 15mm (will use it to mount a battery plate)
Elements Video Breakout Box

Chose the least expensive shipping, $29 UPS to Canada. I don't mind waiting, don't have a camera yet

Just after we tried so hard look for some used ET gears on the internet and finally collected all of them.
ET decided to offer a 70% off on all their gears...this is life.
I bought a used videobox for USD200 and they and now they sell it new for $173
I bought a LWS new from BH for USD240 and ET now decided to sel it for $72! LOL

But compared to those people bought the EPIC before the 40% cut price. This is nothing.
