Does the element technica v mount for weapon mount directly to the camera? Do you need anything else to mount it?

Im looking for the cheapest more streamlined way of mounting v mount batteries directly to the brain.

I thought it mounted on the back of the base-io but I'm not sure I don't have my weapon yet.

It WILL mount directly to the back of the weapon but then you won't have any SDI/HDMI out. Makes a nifty lightweight option though. I was just playing with it on my camera trying to sort out an issue with the VMount plate.

I don't need hdmi or any outputs for this setup as it'll be used in a underwater housing

Yes, can mount directly if you don't want an IO module.
