That's how mine mounts too. Fixed side to side.

Does that mean the CF rods on sale aren't "the originals," and aren't at risk of shattering? I'm interested in getting them but afraid of them shattering.

Will Red make their carbon fiber rods in 15mm as well?

I did my best to bust one.. didnt work. Old ones if you just looked at the wrong way it would shoot a fiber in your eye

A big thanks to RED for all the support getting our EVF mount from beta to customer ready.

As many have noticed Jarred and the gang have a fancy (side adjustable) EVF-Mount interface while everyone else has a low-profile (not as fancy) interface.

We experimented with a bunch of different ways to connect our EVF mount to the RED One. As part of the experiment we decided to ship both versions with the first 100 EVF mounts and find out which one you guys like better. Unfortunately the side adjustable version wasn't ready when the rest of the EVF mount was so we shipped with what we had. The low profile interface is fully functional and puts the EVF very close to the camera body but requires tools to move it side to side, swap sides or move it toward the rear. It can be mounted to the front or top of either style of top rod mount.

The side adjustable version is a little taller but as the name implies you can quickly adjust the EVF left or right , swap sides or shift everything rearward; all without tools. The only time it requires tools is to move the interface from the front top mount to the rear. (choose left or right eye viewing on either side of camera)
Don't worry, in about a week we will begin shipping the fancy version to everyone on the list of 100 brave souls who took a chance on our EVF mount with very little information to go on. Thanks for the support and let us know which one you like.

Just got my EVF mount looks really great Stephen! When I ordered it I thought for sure I'd have my EVF before the mount, no such luck.
What's the deal with the EVF red guys ? Everyone says it is one of the best out there but there is obviously a problem getting it out the door. I've been told next week several times....

EVF's are actually in a pretty good shipping state right now.. we are getting them out in batches daily. The EVF is a highly calibrated piece of kit though, so it will be a bit before the backorders are caught up, as each one goes through a pretty tight QA process.

Jarred, with all due respect, I've heard this several times And I'm a pretty early #; the batches are very small. I'm going on a ski trip tomorrow so I can't use it now anyway but I sure hope it is waiting for me when I return. One more week is getting a bit old.
