This is an issue that has bugged me for years:

Has anyone figured out why Windows 7 refuses to unmount RED Mags, even if no app is accessing them and all Explorer windows are closed? It always says that the Mag is being used. Am I missing something?

Probably just copying the data on your mags to send to MS so they can decide which vendor to sell your infos to. '-)

But seriously, I don't even try to dismount any more. I simply turn off the mag reader.

What bums me out though is when I try to do firmware update. There is a certain procedure I must perform in order to get the force upgrade onto the mag in a way that the camera will recognize it is there. Even though the mag shows the proper amount of data transferred, the camera just won't upgrade unless I put it on the mag a certain way.
