Eject Media before power down?

Ah, so don't use the side button if media is present, but using the UI shutdown is okay without ejecting media first. Very good to know!

Uff, I thought I didn't know how to use my red in all this 3+ years!

i received my red one #0031 on september 07, 2007. i am certain you received yours well after that when the one on one accessibility to the founding group was more limited. perhaps the message was not disseminated as freely at that time. however i have posted dozens of times about this and there are many many stories about rental house drives that failed because of this issue.

Dino, I remember seeing you at lake forest about a week after you have your camera.

I have work with my own RED and over 60 other RED Cameras from various rentals companies too.

I have not personally see that message and I always shutdown using software shutdown.

I think for precaution, it doesn't hurt to eject before powering down any way.

It's good practice to keep exposed media in safer place any way.

Collecting the right statistic here is also important.

I'm just putting in my statistics.
