Hello folks,

Im having issues with my ef mount On my Red Eipc mysterium x. did the last update and its not communicating with the iris of my lenses.

any clue on how to solve this problem??

im supposed to do a big job on the weekend and this is pretty bad.

i already tried different versions of updates, reboots and its still marking N/A on the monitor.

man if somebody could help i would really appreciate.

Big thanks

It can be something as simple as the lens not being seated correctly or a larger internal, electronic, problem which will require you to send the mount back to RED. I would try reseating the lens a few times and check to make sure the contacts on both the lens and the mount look okay. In the past, I've seen the little plastic piece, which holds the electronic contacts on the lens, come off or be loose.

Good luck!

I've updated to the latest firmware on the same camera without issues thankfully. Just incase that info helps in diagnosing the problem. Sounds like it could a lens or brain issue.

ive encountered this problem a few times. Usually I've just had to re-mount the lens or clean the contacts on the lens. Once, just once, I had to re-mount the mount.

All -- which version number of the firmware ("the latest" looses meaning as the thread ages and more firmware releases occur ...), and have you tried other EF
lenses. If you have access to the EF Motion Mount, you could try this. I've found that when I've run in to a firmware that does not communicate with a particular EF
lens (mostly the Tamron 15 - 30) with the "plain" EF mount, it will with the Motion Mount. See if you can test a similar EF lens & then rent that one for the shoot.
I've learned to have a Contax or Leica fully manual lens available at all times, just in case the lens CPU and the camera CPU stop communicating, out-of-the-blue.

FWIW -
Serge

Hi Lucas,

I’m sorry to see that you’re having issues with your DSMC Canon Mount.

The Technical Support team at RED would like to help you resolve this issue. Please submit a Technical Support request on support.red.com and attach the log file from this camera. We will forward the log file information to our Engineers for further analysis.

Just tested a hired 70-200mm Canon and it's fine. Would seem that the lens that I occasionally borrow from a friend of mine may have a dodgy chip or contacts. Still a little apprehensive as his lens works perfectly on a number of other systems but will re-try in a few days.
