I get an echo while monitoring audio from my Wireless mics from my Sony URX-PO3D dual channel wireless.
I dont get an echo when I plug a shotgun straight in.
I am using the V-Mount DMCS2 I/O expander and find that it records without an echo.

But why does it have an echo and can I fix that? as I want to hear what I am actually recording.

thanks.

This product is part of Sony's cheaper digital system, it has some delay / latency, the echo your hearing is unavoidable, presumably because you are too close to the mouth moover. Solutions: move farther away - impossible if your the operator, use in ear monitors or better sealed headphone, downside being you'll have a hard time hearing your surroundings loosing some situational awareness, or change over to a wireless system that has no latency (analog systems for example) or imperceptible digital delay (rare).

The specs on that Sony unit show a latency of less than 1ms. Specifically it looks like .35ms each for the xmit and rcv. That is a pretty small amount of latency to be able to perceive.

Thats actually a good idea. I will check to make sure im not hearing the camera mic.

Yeah, that was my 1st thought too. As I own 5x Sony UWP-D11 kits (they're quite good for their price! I prefer them of the common place G3 wireless), and latency is very very low with them. I'd be surprised if anyone finds it to be a significant problem.
