  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ebay Pl to Canon Adapter

I bought that adapter from the same ebay seller but I guess it was a refurbished one so it was $80 or so. I don't really have PL lenses to try it on, but it does not work with the $30 Arri-Std to PL adapter I bought for a 16mm angenieux lens I have. The flanges on the arri-std->PL adapter seem to be too thick to allow the ceico7 PL adapter to close and lock it in... Not sure if the PL flanges on the arri-std adapter are too thick or if the space for the PL flanges on the EF adapter are too small. I'm hoping I can just take a little thickness off the flanges and make it work.

Those adapters are hit or miss. Take out the set screw that stops the pl lock ring from moving and back it off a turn, that should let your PL adapter fit. They only work with a select few lenses. It's trail and error. Mine takes my duclos 11-16, my ekran 25-80, and my canon 300, so that covers me for lenses shooting stills on my t2i.

I thought they only worked with few lenses on the DSLRs, since they have a mirror. On the Scarlet it will probably work fine with the majority of lenses if it doesn't have any construction issues. The only issue I can see is with heavy lenses without support. I will post tests as soon as I get my hands on it.

CPs don't work with these, neither do RPPs, Cookes, SS, Standards etc.
Angenieux and Cooke zooms do however .
We made special run of RPP replacement PL mounts so they would work on Canon DSLRs.
And it has nothing to do with the SLR mirror BTW....

SO not working on the RPP as well ,.... is this due to the thickness of the flange on the PL mount of the RPP ?

I would call it the length of the PL pilot but -Yes, I guess?

No joy Gavin- needs PL mount modified or a replacement PL mount.
