Up until recently I have had fairly decent results with ebay, however I have now experienced the other side, frustration and being screwed around.I read with great interest and dismay the experience of Joshua D Lassing < see thread ,PayPal/ebay Nightmare for sellers> and was staggered that he had no protection from ebay,Joshua contacted me as I had a Red kit on ebay at the time < thanks Joshua !!!>.Well my latest experience is one Im sure many here have had, watching a buyer bid through out the duration of the auction, then in a bidding battle with seconds to go to win the auction. All good so far !!!.Then once you make contact after the sale, silence,or a really delayed response , Im talking hours here.
And this is where the little lies start appearing, eg I just had a death in the family, and need to see what the budget for the funeral is going to be,I will get back to you when I know,or I thought your sale included free international posting,or I cant contact my father. These are exactly what I have been delivered by winning bid's of a red kit i had on ebay recently.im not wet behind the ears ,and freddy the blind miner can see they had no intention of honouring the sale. Then when I opened a dispute to at least have the ebay fees credited ,I discovered I couldn't leave a seething feedback comment,or any feedback at all,as they hadn't paid !!!!!,go figure.I contacted ebay and they replied and I quote them
exactly .

Hello amg2107,Thanks for contacting eBay about non paying buyers.
I understand that this is frustrating for you and you want to leave a negative feedback. Basically, all sellers cannot leave the buyer a negative feedback. This is to promote more buyers to come to eBay and purchase items from our sellers like you

Ah yes and more ebayer's wasting your time.I responded to ebay along the lines of this.I want to make future sellers aware of this particular buyer and i can't,further more all you guys do <ebay> is slap them on the wrist and give them a unpaid item strike, which is not readily visible to potential sellers, the buyer is essentially 100% positive on there feedback.ebay then responded and i quote
Hello amg2107,
Thanks for contacting eBay.
I understand what you mean. At this point, we cannot change anything about this but if you can make suggestions our department who handles these things about our policy may be able to check on this.

yeah right. Now i know many here will say ,don't use ebay for these reasons < fair enough>It can be quite good however so I wish to continue. How though can I possibly avoid these buyers if possible, yes i can block bids, but thats after the event.Im wanting to block there bids, because I know they have screwed someone over before,How !!!
A list created right here.A list of ebay Id's who have deliberately screwed over ,lied, stolen, damaged, etc fellow reducers.I know they can have multiple Id's,but it's a start.A way to send a message to anyone out there, that screwing one of us,will put them on a list that exposes them for what they are,and potentially prevent them from dealing crap on future sales. How it would work is,I can simply check here if someone bidding on my gear has been exposed before for lying, stealing, etc
So Im starting the list
Dont deal with
Ebay Id weatherall.2008- he doesnt pay, waste of time
Ebay Id miffymedia- doesn't pay, waste of time
Perhaps Joshua might want to Add the Id of the buyer who screwed him over, and anyone else who has had similar experiences

I have a very similar story. I am selling my Teradek Cube kit. I have sold it twice and had not gotten payment, neither was able to leave a negative feedback. First buyer never replied. Second buyer came up with an elaborate story of getting divorced, life turning upside down and so on. Here are their user names:

Vuqar_1988
Nielsen.nielsen

both never paid.

Actually, at least on e-bay uk, it is posstible to block non-paying bidders.
I'm suprised the e-bay rep didn't tell you this.
When you create your listing, there is an option right at the bottom of the listing for "buyer requirements"...
There you can block people from certain countries, with bad feedback or with non paying strikes against them, from bidding on your item.

Non paying bidders are definitely a growing problem, although I think that's partly down to many angry sellers suggesting that there is no come back for non paying bidders.

Anyway....

Hope that helps.

Sounds so familiar Daniel.I think we should have a separate forum called Red Police and put these offenders in the sin bin

Yea, again, sorry, but when people told me back in the days when I was a Camera and Cine Gear Broker, why don't I use eBay... Well, this and a S^%$# load more of really good reason why I didn't, don't and never will, eBay sucks HUGE time.

Such an authorized RIP OFF, that is what they are, hand on hand with Paypal.

that's the problem Freya, some of these guys have 100% positive feedback, and they blatantly had no intention of paying.Yes they now have a ebay strike now,but you can't leave feedback if a buyer doesn't pay,THATS EBAY POLICY

No I mean that here in the UK it is possible to block people with non bidding strikes against them. I'm not sure where you live so it might be different there.
Feedback is different as you suggest.

That's completely bananas that you can't leave feedback for a buyer who doesn't pay. What's the point of feedback?

I had a experience on the opposite end of the spectrum - I bought a red package, paid promptly and then the seller started a shell game, shipping to the wrong address (twice) and then finally not responding. Fortunately in my case it was covered by the ebay buyer safety program and I got all the money back. But a huge hassle, nonetheless. It could have been worse.
