  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EasyRig Group Buy - Any Interest?

Well I do have to agree with you on some points made, as with everything you need lots of practice and get used to it...

But with the Double Arm WK rig you can indeed get a very low shot "to the floor" no problem, and hence work thru doors no problem as it has been tested this way, just that you need extended arms on the actual arms of the Gimbal, and then also be able to send it way higher too.

I guess I'll have to look closer and test further the available rigs, and hopefully get to test also the Serene.

to understand better what Ia saying, look at the pictures of the low mode where the camera is, where the arms are , nearly 1 meter extending in front of you (dont kill the actor) and most important , look that the string isnt vertical, meaning you are holding the rig which tries to escape away from you.

No exactly ideal, and cannot be performed with shorter adjustment arms either

regards

The picture is really not entirely descriptive of war the rig can do, it's just how the user set it up...

The system is completely adjustable in all lengths, and the upper extension arms, telescopic, so the actual cable will NOT be pulling away form you, you can adjust it to be as you prefer.

Any ways, I now fill I am highjacking the thread all together... :)

But if I can I'll be at IBC and we'll talk in person if you are there, and I'll definitely as I said be interested in testing out the Serene if I have a chance.

when the arm goes down it follows an arc. At the given arc this rig works in greater than 110 degrees by the looks of it, its very natural the camera to be closer to you at end extreme points and far away from you at medium range in about 55 degrees. It unavoidable. Yes you can telescope in the arms for sure. But then to get a good low mode position (not as low though) you get a the rig on your face in hgh position, in other words, arcs have this disadvantage, just like jib arms sometimes in a way.
Thats why we went with a linear system with a fixed pivot point where the camera hangs down and extends linear and vertical, while at the same time the spring arm works at any given position.
Most of the time to get those low shots , just like the guy on the pictures you lean fwd, either that or you bent your knees doing the duck walk.
If you lean fwd like most people do, with this rig, you are like a bull looking for trouble, and its just a matter of what bull you are, a young one with small horns or an older with a bigger horns. And to add to that they are also quite away apart, so though this rig might work pretty well , its like a moving factory with arms sticking out looking for the next victim. Its pretty obvious. But in anyway, have a test drive. You are welcome to come by on IBC. I hope we have everything there in time .

With the new gimbals on the market, how about we reach out and see if we can get a new group buy. These Ronins are heavy and I'm sure there are some people that have been looking at Easyrigs to help take some of the weight off (pun intended Reduser's lol!).

Carey,

Do you think you should start another thread?...I'm seriously interested, and need one bad. I love the Ronin but need a Easyrig (cinema 3 700n or 850 I believe)...so please let me/the community know when you find something out. I figure they'll be a lot of interest for an item like this with all the new interest in the gimbal market.

Thanks again for the work on this!

If they want to do the gb, I'll start a new thread. Waiting on the answer now.
