I bought a ProAim years ago and I do not recommend moving forward with one. There are a few reasons why -- I started trying to save as much $$ as possible and got it. I found a few flaws and over the years have gotten a bunch of workarounds and now I've spent roughly the price of a used EasyRig for something that is inferior. In addition to this, I saw the founder of EasyRig on a few websites/forums (including RedUser) explaining how their IP has been copied and it's making it tough for them. They're an industry standard for a reason and I really recommend going name brand here. If you wanna message me privately I'm happy to go into some more detail. I'll just say this -- it's not nearly as comfortable as an EasyRig and when it comes down to it, I straight up don't trust to let go of the camera, even a light build.

The used market for these right now is actually pretty solid and if you have an EasyRig supplier in your region/country, replacement parts to make a used item "like new" are really affordable.

Solid points! Thanks for your feedback and for sharing your experience.

Ok...I will be the other side of this discussion. I have one of the Proaim Easy Rig clones...(they made a ton of variations) and I bought it new from India for $900 bucks. They shipped it overnight for free. https://www.proaim.be/products/flycam-flowline-x-850n-professional-stabilizing. I have to say it has been bomber. Not one single issue now in almost two years. Works great. Fits great. I just could not afford to drop four grand more on an actual easy rig or I would have, so I took a chance here. It has been flawless. I know it is not a popular route to take on this forum but the OP was asking about experience. This is mine. YMMV.

Many thanks for sharing your experience Scot.

my Experience is the same as Scot’s.

I have a Proaim unit and love it! Zero issues!
However i would LOVE to own an EasyRig
and support the inventor, but i just can’t justify
the expense difference.

Thanks for the feedback Curtis. I totally understand you.

I had every confidence in the Easyrig because of that kind of thread here.
But now....

I just had an Easyrig 3 600N failure, three days ago. It was a production own Easyrig, in excellent condition.
We were using a Easyrig + Serene + Movi pro with a stripped down Gemini.
The column literally broke in half during recording at the junction. It was a simple walking move with zero difficulties.

I don't trust the Proaim on the cords in the long terms, but it is still ok nevertheless especially if you change it.

I've owned an Easyrig 2.5 for years myself, and a Proaim Flowline with a Placid for the last two years.
Seriously, they are both fine for owners. I wouldn't rent the Proaim though, just to be safe with the cords.

I actually find the Flowline vest more confortable than my 2.5 (well it's easy to be fair) but as confortable as the 3, maybe even more padded now that I think about it.

Merci Bérenger.
Great to read all those different feedback here.

It seems like Easyrig and Proaim are the two brands that most people use. I wish the Easyrig Minimax went up to 20 pounds with their weight limit. There is such a massive price jump from the Easyrig Minimax to their next level.

Flycam Flowline: $1000 (9-27 pounds)
Easyrig Minimax: $1250 (4.4-15.4 pounds)
Easyrig Vario 5: $3500 (11-38 pounds)

Part of me feels that if the Easyrig Minimax went up to 20 pounds, then a lot less people would buy the knockoff. Or maybe offer another model in between the two for $1800?
