Hey everyone,
Cineplex Odeon (A Canadian entertainment corporation) is having a contest to make a 15 second spot for their Scene points card. My boss, Chris Parker (Bling Digital, Digital Cinema Lessons) lent me one of his RED One kits and we shot the whole thing in 3 and a half hours. I wished we had longer.. But we had to work around the movie theatre's schedule (you know how it is). Because the spot is only 15 seconds, I had to cut most of the key shots I spent lighting (again, you know how it is) but all things considered I think we pulled it off!

They uploaded the file with an aspect ratio of 4:3 for some reason... So I am re-submitting it with a letterbox.
We shot 4k 16x9 RC36 so you can imagine the hilarity when they asked that the file be compressed down to 5MB or less. The only reason we shot at such high quality is because if we win the contest, there is a cash prize, and we get our spot played across Canada for a month in theatres (on the big screen). So obvoiusly we wanted it to hold up!
We submitted the spot on the 14th of November, so we would have had 16 days to gather votes before the contest closes on the 30th. They told us that our music was too close to the original James Bond theme and to change it for copyright infringement. We complied, the only problem being they waited until YESTERDAY to tell us this. Again, we did the best we could with the time we had (Stuck in Northern Ontario on a feature, often times no cell reception let alone internet... Very hard to co-ordinate things haha). Now our only delema is getting votes with only 2 days left! So, if you like it, it would be great to get some 5 star votes from fellow RED enthusiests!
Cheers, and thanks!
