I was wondering if anyone knows of a quicker way to create custom .RSX's for the respective .R3D's? Right now, I have RedPortal installed so I can just double click each .R3D file and correct it, but I was hoping for something more like RedCine that would make going through 100 files for a first light CC faster.

I have even checked out RedCine-X, but it doesn't seem to create .RSX files that I can use in RedRushes.

Use Clipfinder by H. G. Daun, it can lift and copy RSX's and has a much better interface. Makes RR more or less obsolete.

I'm sorry, I didn't make myself clear. If I wanted the same look for each file I could just do one RSX in RedAlert and then select it as the RSX file for RedRushes to use for all the files. What I want is for each file to have it's own custom RSX without the pain, and time, it takes to open each R3D. RedCine allows me to go through the clips and color correct them quickly, but it doesn't generate an RSX from that coloring. :(

You can adjust settings for each clip in Clipfinder. If I'm reading what you're talking about correctly, I think that it's more or less exactly what you're looking for. You can load up a bunch of clips, change the settings, and have an RSX be generated. Check it out.

That looks like a decent solution for right now. Not as elegant as RedCine, but much faster than RedAlert.

Thanks,

You're describing Clipfinder's Lift and Stamp function. Color one image, Lift the look, select all other images and stamp. Bam... a bunch of RSX's.

I've been correcting a scene and then stamping all shots in that scene with the same correction and then after my one light correction on all the scenes I batch render. Very cool, very fast.

Yeah, maybe not as cool as RedCine, but Clipfinder is better in other ways. I've had a Script Supervisor use it to make notes. All the metadata is right there and easy to read. And there are thumbnails available.
