  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Earthflight BBC1

Really looking forward to seeing this.

That's a really nice & tight setup you've got there. Where do you stow the camera for takeoff and landing?

Also, how smooth is the microlight for shooting? Did you use post stabilisation?

I'd love to read a writeup about your experience's.

A trike with retractable gear! Nice!!!

Also curious how you stow the camera when it's not in use. I suppose there are a few more spots to put it than there would be with a foot launch PPG, but a PPG trike or quad would seem to have more space for gear.

Very cool, man. Not sure if I get BBC1 but I'll go check ASAP.

Nice...

Nice setup with a fantastic view! Will definitely watch it.

Just watchied this now, stunning shots, unusual and innovative. The quality of the images is a real step up from more recent non Red features I've seen.

One person flying AND filming? How safe is that? :-)

A hell of a lot safer than driving a car and filming. Most aircraft fly themselves, and a microlight/ultralight like this goes so slow, things don't happen very quickly anyway. As long as you're aware of any traffic in the area (or make sure there isn't any) then filming and flying isn't hard or dangerous at all.

Stunning stuff Richard.
Amazing what you can do with a bit of green screen, a bird glued to the end of a stick and an electric fan!:biggrinjester:

What is this... everyone's a comedian today! :))

Agree with Alan and the rest of the guys - amazing stuff Richard. Congrats.

Lets grab a coffee. Love to hear the stories behind the shoots.

:))

Thanks a bunch Alan, now you've spoilt it for me!
I really thought that was the real thing, the magic of television eh....

Great job Richard, thoroughly enjoying the series.

One question, what glue do you use? My birds always fall off the stick...

JUst watched the episode, fascinating, beautifully shot and quite moving really... A testament to the strength of life in its many forms. Congrats!
