Jealous? lol j/k This probably isn't thread worthy but I thought I'd share some thoughts after getting hands on with Raven. I'm still anxiously waiting for my Raven to arrive but I attended a RED demo day here in ATL to see the Raven and Scarlet-W in person. Of course we know it's lighter than the original MX bodies, but to actually pick it up and feel the difference is amazing. I do alot of gimbal work so this is gospel to my back and shoulders. (even with my atlas rig) Also I was SHOCKED at how small the 4.5 inch screens are. The pictures online don't do it justice. This thing looks like a cell phone screen. I had been going back and forth between 4.5 and 7 inch. Seeing how small it is solidified my decision to bite the bullet and pay more for the 7inch screen. (sorry i forgot to take a pic of the 4.5 lcd) Some of you may have known this already (but I didn't) but I thought it was pretty cool that you could output to several monitors at once from the brain. On the scarlet-w, they had the 7 inch monitor on top of the brain, the 4.5 inch attached to the side pogos on the brain and essentially you could have a third monitor via HDMI! I am kind of bummed to see that the scarlet-w brain top has cheese holes built into the body already, but with the Raven you will have to buy a third party top plate like the one from WC. The vlock i-o expander is pretty slick and convenient. Almost everything you need in a nice tight package. Also the universal handle is pretty small and to me, gives off a feeling of being inadequate for a camera this expensive. For the same price I can get a third party "dumb" handle that feels more robust. The trick is finding someone with a handle that fits the new spacing on the Raven brain holes.

Then they brought this out....then I was like...ok now yall just showing off! haha

That is great! Where you wearing the battery belt when using the Raven with the jetpack expander?

they had the belt there but I didn't wear it. I personally don't like the belt clip, its too prone to accidents. All it takes is one time that the operator forgets he's clipped to the belt, set the camera/rig down and walk away and end up with expensive equipment falling to the ground. OF course you can "be careful" but everybody makes mistakes. I stay away from belt clips.

Looks awesome! Cant wait to get my package in! Dying to take it for a spin on the Ronin.

We are treating the 4" screen as a control surface, and will toss on a SmallHD 7" for actual monitoring

I love the 7" but it adds some bulk up top.

thats not a bad idea, but the menu buttons on the screen are small as well, i fear having the "gorilla fingers" effect like when texting on a cell phone with small buttons for letters and press the wrong stuff on accident
