Hi everyone :)

I'm currently working on a feature-length film in Miami, using a fully
equipped Red one and a professional video tripod from e-image, distributed
by fluidheadtripod.com

I've been using many different kinds of equipment for the last three
years, from low-range prices up to high class pieces of equipment and all
I can say is that these tripods are the best value for the money.

We used a FHTCARB0771 model which is composed of a carbon fiber leg and a nice fluid head. It looks very professional, very sturdy and is also
lightweight.

I could not imagine that I could do such smooth moves using heavy
professional equipment with such an affordable tripod.

I would recommend it to any filmmaker who wants an affordable,
professional-quality tripod, with no compromises on quality, to achieve outstanding results.

Here are some feature of the first shooting day :

how long it last?

well, its depends on what you can afford to use with the red one.

in comparison, famous brands are really expensive for the same purpose, and the production company choosed not to rent anymore...

When they say independant filmaking, they mean it.

I've used several o'connor and miller heads, sachtler ones as well, and they were quite good, but I was really impressed by this one as it is much cheaper and do the same job perfectly.

You should try it when you have a chance.

Cheers

does this tripod work with the element technica dovetail?

I don't know about this element technica piece of equipment. The tripod we got uses the standards 1/4" and 3/8" screws and fits the RED one perfectly. We did not used the cheese plate, just the Red one dovetail.

But you should ask them directly, their customer service was pretty fast answering questions.

Well, I know sachtler better than miller as I use sachtler (30 and 9+9) most of the time in France. We don't use miller heads a lot over here.

I like sachtler a lot, the cine 30 is great. I still prefer the cine 30 over the e-image one but, when we talk about buying this kind of piece of equipment, I have no hesitation because the cine 30 is not worth the extra money you've got to pay for it.

There is not a big difference on the set. The 0771 set does the job perfectly. It definetly did for us.

It is really well made. The tripod we got is carbon fiber legs, nice materials. So does the fluidhead. Looks perfect. With 8 positions damping in tilt and pan, moves are really precise. That's what I expect from a professional head for camera such as the Red one.

Hope this helps

Good to hear Fred. I was recommended this tripod by a friend last month. And was a bit apprehensive about getting it. But i might just give it a shot now.
