DVD Tutorials For The RED1??

Are there any DVD tutorials sold online relating to the RED ONE?

Around 8 months ago I was thinking of buying a HVX200, and to prepare I bought Barry Green’s comprehensive, excellent HVX bootcamp series. I am now seriously thinking about buying a SCARLET. I’d like to become a little more familiar with shooting RAW, understanding the RED workflow etc. What little I’ve read on the RED ONE suggests that it could present a sharp learning curve for those used to shooting video as well as those familiar with film. It’s been rumoured that the SCARLET will be a more user-friendly camera than the RED ONE, but learning a little about other cameras in the RED family surely can’t hurt.

- Is there a DVD tutorial on the RED ONE that details camera operation and workflow?
-Have any books been written on the camera operation and workflow?
-Are there any websites apart from the RED company site, SCARLET user, and RED user I should think about looking at?

I’d be grateful for any help any of the RED users out there could give me.

Hey Michael1.

I don't know of any DVD tutorials to purchase but there are plenty of online videos on here (Reduser) if you do a search which explain certain things about the camera and workflow. Here's one for example, if i come across others i'll post the links to you -

The forums here are a great area to pick up information that you might need.

Youtube has some videos about it and on Vuze there are some on the Red channel about Red Cine and the post side of things that may be of use starting out.

There are no books yet - how can anyone publish a book on an ever changing camera system? The book would be out dated before it hit the shelves.

online tutorials may be more than you want but you should check out studiodaily.com. They have various courses on the red one
