  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DUCLOS 11-16MM

Yes, now i recall your post....so in reality YES there IS VIGNETTING on this lens at the very wide end. Might not be visible, but it is there. I think when shooting scapes is where i might have seen this at one time as i own that lens as well and rarely can you notice any vignetting, but it is there when you put a critical eye to it.
Thanks for that post

....and still a great lens

Exactly.

kind of bringing this back from the dead, but boy does this lens look sweet! I wanted to grab the Nikkor one and cine mod it but I almost rather go PL instead and get the better housing. I saw some pretty bad reviews of the non duclos housings, plus at least I could move into PL now, which is my long term goal. This lens looks awesome, any more of you got it and like it now?

My primary underwater lens. Vignettes on Epic around 13mm, I shoot at 14mm. It's got a very rich look and feel to it, not sure how to describe it any other way.

would anyone know the effective focal length of the Duclos 11-16 when shooting at 5k and 4k?

I haven't found one negative review of this lens anywhere, but it would be a shame to loose all that wide angle

capability when cropping, has anyone used it on there Epic or Scarlet yet??

Thanks

If I sound rude here, please forgive me, I absolutely dont intend to!

This is a side track, but here it goes: The focal length (or depth of field) of a lens do not change, regardles of format or sensor size. What do change is the angle of view! Is it not more appropriate to ask what the angle of view is for a particular lens at 6k vs 5k vs 4k vs 2k...?

Personally I think this "crop factor" terminology is pretty useless, as it asumes that 36 x 24 mm sensor size is your "native" format; what you are used to deal with.
