  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dubrovnik, Croatia on Red Scarlet-W

On my list of countries to visit.

To the Critic Cave!

Acquisition:
Watch your Stop Lights. A couple scenes seemed a bit clipped. White buildings mostly
Don't be afraid to get close to people. @150fps everyone looks glamorous and it adds humanity to the vid
Shoot at night as well - people having fun, music scene, street lights etc
Farmers Markets, Fishing Boats unloading, Street Merchants - all good subjects to include
If you're shooting in slow mo then shoot subjects that have non-linear movement like waves, flags in the wind, fire etc.
Shot block for Editing choices later. Far, Medium and Close of same subject

Edit:

What story are you trying to tell? The shot selection and order seemed random
Pick an arc then edit to that: Morning to Night. Low to High ground. Small view to Large overview
Bookend your story with a closing shot that mirrors your opening shot or vibe
Good music choice

Color:

Would have liked to see a consistent grade throughout. I like the natural clean look but it was a little bumpy from shot to shot. Pick a hero shot and grade all other shots to that

Thanks for the advice, Zeb B.

I'm a newb user still, so it's great to hear these things.
