Hello

I know, I know, its bad, but I power my Epic like this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D-Tap-To-...UK_Camera_Cables_Adapters&hash=item3cd36957b4

With this and a battery brick that has a Dtap on it.. (Farseeing FD-BP160L)

and to be fair, lasts me over 2 hours which is quite good. I keep the battery in a fanny pack..

Just wondering though if there's such a thing as a L-Shaped Lemo connector?

Its sticks so far off the Red Epic without the RedMote that I worry it'll snap or bend one day..

You should have got this one:

As far as power distribution, is this a safe solution? I mean I know the D-tap connector isn't ideal but I'm curious about whether this can potentially brick the camera... that's just me being paranoid. For those powering up the camera this way, care to share your thoughts, experiences? Thanks.

It should work fine, but worth double checking wiring before powering the camera with any third party cables!

The Lemo end requires TWO pairs of pins wired to the DC voltage to avoid damage to the camera - the pinouts are in the user manual appendices.

The low cost of this cable indicates the connector may not be a genuine Lemo made connector. Some of the copies are not made with the same precision which could cause the core to rotate within the outer shell causing problems or damage.
If you know what to look for, it may be worth it.
