I'm beginning the search for a new home for my trusty water housing made by Salty in Australia. I've worked with this housing for over 4 years all around the world for surf, documentary, and more. I'm selling to hopefully upgrade to the DSMC3 system and am hoping there's still someone out there with DSMC2 that might be interested in working in the water.
This housing is technically a "surf" housing and is rated up to 60 feet as opposed to the much more pricey Gates housings that are rated to 300+ and have better ballast control. It is slightly positively buoyant and ideal for surface / pool work but I've also used it for SCUBA purposes with pretty good results at 30-40 feet for shipwreck documentaries.
It has a side panel that works with the Sidekick but you can swap the panel out for a standard metallic plate if you want to be safer and not have as many controls.
It comes with 3 ports, 2 flat ports and one dome port. I've never used the longer flat port for some reason, just never had a need for it yet with my lens kit. Each port was designed for a specific lens but I've been able to fit other lenses in each port. The shorter flat port was designed specifically for the Tokina 11-16mm cine lens but I've fit a few other lenses such as shorter Sigma Cine Primes and some other photography lenses (Sigma 50mm ART f/1.4 for example). The longer lens port was designed for the 70-200mm f/4 for long lens work in wet situations and the dome port will work with just about any super wide / fisheye lens that has a shorter minimum focusing distance.
Asking around $3500 which will include a full servicing by Salty in Australia.
If anyone has any questions or wants to check it out any further I'm happy to jump on a phone call or video call to walk through it and see if it might fit your needs. I can show reference footage from past shoots as well. The housing is still supported by Salty in Australia for servicing and repairs.
