  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC2. Unified.

Is there a path of Epic-W to Monstro?

And MG to Monstro?

Don't get me wrong. I love my Gemini to death. It is an amazing camera. But it is just unfair for a product to cost 1/5 less 4 weeks after it's initial release. The camera that costed $25k for me to purchase now costs $20k brand new.

I purchased the camera with an understanding that it may lose value 6 months after it's release. I did my research and I knew RED may release a new sensor 6 months later and my camera would drop in value. I would not feel bad at all if that was the case.

However, I never expected my camera to lose value 4 weeks after it's initial release.

I know technology advances fast and products depreciates but depreciating by 1/5 of the retail price 4 weeks after it's initial release is unfair to the early Gemini buyers.

Being a college student, I don't have the luxury of not caring about wasting $5k.

just let me know when the upgrade path from Scarlet-W to Gemini is going to close so I can get in right before the end!
 
As an Epic-W owner, it’s been very annoying having to crop sensor for slowmo. Made me regret trading in my 6K Epic Dragon. I need the high frame rates, but I couldn’t afford the $50K 8K slowmo camera. Thank you Jarred for making this financially possible for us to own. 🙏🏼🙌🏻🙏🏼

I would ask them if they can either provide a credit or return, its a large loss, but again for me the loss is more about sending the camera in! They should do right by you

In a galaxy far far away this might of worked. But in the real world I highly doubt that.

Arguably a college student shouldn't be buying an Epic W Gemini, focus on your studies, use the college's equipment to the max, maaaaybe own a personal camera such as a cheap GH5S (or heck, a GH2! Then you really will not care about depreciation while you study until you graduate).

Hey, I really appreciate all the work you guys do and I'm sorry I asked. I just have too many arris and had been thinking hard lately about using the prior trade in offered. I was even talking to maxx digital pre announcement today requesting the quote with the arri trade discount. This deals way better though in terms of the new pricing. I'll probably take advantage of it for sure and I didn't mean to bum you out. These deals are way better but i hadn't read the fine print before jumping in here and on fb. Gemini upgrade sounds amazing thanks so much

The new lower camera prices make the media cost seem even more out of line.
 
If I upgrade my Weapon Helium to dsmc2 Monstro do I keep my CF body or do I requested a new dsmc2 CF body? and can we also request a dsmc2 Stealth Badge? if thats not an option can I keep my stealth badge?

If he's crushing it in his business, doesn't matter if he's in college or not! I feel his situation - does not require someone to be in college to feel that hit. $5k is $5k.

I agree, if he was crushing it in the business, which I am not sure what that equates to in dollars, but kind of feels to me a little like tuition forgiveness hahaha, I joke I joke, but don't bring up your student status as crutch

I would never tell anyone what to do with their $ or what camera to buy, if I listened to that, I wouldn't own any Reds
