  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC2. Unified.

Please guys answer to this question as Im little confused ��*♀️
I own and Epic W Helium, so this mean I can go to Gemini free of charge? Many thanks!

This is very true. I know I benefited from the MG upgrade, and helium pricing.

That looks right to me. I also haven't received a confirmation email either.

I spent € 60,000 for a white Weapon and if I sell it is not worth even 20k.
Completely disappointed by RED.
Better to sell new DSMC2 to new and young users, and leave the old users who have believed in it for 10 years.

Looks like EpicW (Helium) owners are in the sweet spot.
Move up to Weapon Helium for US$5K - or sideways to Gemini for free. WOW!

I had a little pit-in-my-stomach feeling about my Weapon MG 6k to Weapon Helium 8K upgrade as well. (Not to mention the Weapon MG 6K only being a camera for a few short months.) Similarly just watched a $50K Weapon Helium become a $25K DSMC2 camera body, and I'm secretly wondering if Athos will pro-rate the insurance premium I just paid to reflect the change in replacement price.

Although !! I have to say this is a very welcome change, and I can't complain because I've gotten an absurd amount of use out of my Weapon Helium in the last year. Enough to make up for the loss in value? I'm not sure, but definitely enough to remind myself that I'm very fortunate to have had the opportunity to begin with. In comes the wave of how great RED is as a company, offering these sorts of wildly generous upgrade paths. While some of us might have pulled the short straw, there are far too many fantastic experiences and great footage that I've taken in this past year. I'm still pretty happy.

I do hope in the future, they learn from their mistakes / wild strategies and really keep this a streamlined process. As per your feelings on VV and Monstero... I do have to say that it does burns a bit even as an outsider.

Some of you bought a Weapon 6k dragon many years ago. Then paid $10k for the Dragon VV which actually turned into a free Helium 8K upgrade while you waited for it.. which then turned into a 10k Monstro Upgrade.

So in reality... We are the ones that actually got kicked in the nuts ( by ourselves ) ;)
 
This is a very smart move. Well done Jarred and team.

Already put in the request for moving my Epic-W Helium to Weapon.
Hell yeah.

This!! Paid for both those upgrades..

Being early meant something at one time. Now good timing may be key.

This one hurts and Monstro is even further out of reach.
 
Scarlet W Brain (purchased 2016) with upgrade path to Gemini 5K Brain totals (for me) $24,468 BUT the Gemini 5K brain can be purchased outright now for $19,500....the math hurts for sure...hope I've got this wrong

I hear you loud and clear, Jarred, but it doesn't make it any easier for me to see my $60,000 investment to be devalued overnight, all the while being told that us CF Weapon owners would be rewarded in the future.

I've always told myself that if my Weapon Helium Monochrome didn't work out financially, I would at least be able to sell it for $35,000, but at $25,000 for a brand new one, I'm fried..

We are looking to see if we can add request-received confirmation emails. Since this is just a request, not an order, it is not set up with order confirmation-like replies, sorry.

Meanwhile, for those who already placed requests, will see if we can send out a mass "we got your request" blast later today or so...
 
Future of WeaponMG?

I like the idea of a Unified Brain...
But I am a bit concerned about my WeaponMG. RED is no longer offering a 6k Dragon Sensor...

Do we get Firmware updates? Do we get repairs?

I really love my WeaponMG 6K Dragon!
