  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Maybe thats why you can't go back and get a little older firmware on the site.

I have seen videos on youtube of people with dragon that have IPP2 and it showing the difference when shooting in it. Bummer I updated.

When IPP2 was first rolling out people were calling RWG/L3G10 IPP2, but they're different. RWG/L3G10 is just a base you can use in many ways. IPP2 includes new color science, debayering, and the way it handles noise. Did you see videos where they were selecting the contrast and rolloff in camera on a dragon sensor? I'd be super interested to watch the videos you've seen. Mind linking?

I literally was able to select IPP2 or legacy. I remember running it for awhile and it was a little buggy and I went back to the old firmware right before August cause I had a few bigger jobs that I didn't want it to mess up on. Watched a video of it the other day and came to download the newer firmware and noticed it was gone.

Does footage with IPP2 show differen't meta data? I still have stuff from the shoots I used it on.

Guessing they didn't shoot IPP2.

Wow, that's crazy. Wonder if the bugginess is related to how Dragon can/can't handle IPP2 in the body. Interesting it even came up as an option...
 
Does anyone have a WC cableless v mount module and does it show voltage on the latest update?

It does not, this is a direct quote from WC when I asked them directly about the issue:

"Thank you for contacting us and we're sorry to hear you're having issues with your Cable-less battery plate. We are currently working with RED to resolve this problem and will update you once find a proper solution. Thank you for your patience."
 
My little hack has been to use a p-tap to Red DC cable every time I boot up the camera. I use a WC cableless back and a Core SWX shark fin. Power up the camera, plug in the cable to get voltage, unplug cable and since I'm hot swapping, never have to power down the camera. Small workaround until the issue is resolved.
 
has anyone had any issues with SDI out to a wireless feed? Im using my vaxis storm 500 ft. It was working on the previous firmware build but not on this latest firmware. I didn't change any settings on my hardware (same cables, same wireless channel,), just the firmware. please help.

Try setting your SDI out to "auto" in monitor settings
