DSMC2 CCU

What are my options for utilizing DSMC2 bodies with a SMPTE fiber back to CCU? Much like the new Arri Amira Live option. I know there used to be a few options for this but its seems like those companies that make these items come and go so quickly. The Amira Live package is nice and tempting but I honestly would love to utilize my Geminis instead. Thoughts?

Hi Jeremiah,

Foolcontrol OS X is probably your best CCU multicam option with lots of MacBooks & utrastudios if you need a live feed alongside the colour wheels/RED UI etc that you get with foolcontrol.

It works with focussing EF lenses too as well, a lot like the BM atem software control does once you give an URSA a RETurn sdi feed from the atem for cam control, good for 50-100m runs.

there was a company making a broadcast fibre module but it was a while ago,i think it was dsmc1 days & the world has moved on a lot since then. Can’t really see red going down the broadcast market but damn, what an interesting world that would be : )

I think an URSA broadcast G2 camera chain with the smpte fibre back & b4 hd lens & dual iSo loveliness etc is going to take some beating: on price especially. You could probably get a whole system chain for £10k, which is just nuts.
