  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC2 aks compatibility

Monitors, LCDs, and EVF are a different connector and different protocols. Unknown if they can be adapted, but highly doubtful as everything is new on that front.

Other mounting related accessories. As far as I can tell a few things from DSMC2 like baseplate will work with the XL variant of V-Raptor.

I really wish Red would make a tall version of the mount that attaches to the bottom of the camera body and snaps into the Red Platform to give it the proper distance for rods, Matt boxes etc.

Wooden Camera and Bright Tangerine already do. I actually just used the Komodo kit from WC on that V-Raptor shoot. But it could be tighter.

The teased 15mm QR plate system on launch day also makes that proper height and you can bolt on a 19mm below that if needed, which I shall be doing. I'm hedging my bets on that bad boy.

I have been thinking about making a spacer plate to the OG assault QR system. Pretty fond of that as I use them on my Monstros.

Thanks Phil, looks like I need to do a bit more shopping around. I like that the camera is very small for travel and gimbals, but that I can build it up (literally) for bigger productions.

The current solutions I found all seem to point to 15mm rods. I want to use my existing Red platforms and 19mm rods. Just need a spacer, even a fat cheese type plate would work. Just want to adapt what I have already.
